Lewis has a tremendous cycling pedigree. Having competed in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, he also represented Ireland at World and European Championships in mountain biking.

He took gold at the World Police & Fire Games Mountain Bike Race and silver at World Police & Fire Games Criterium Road Race.
